Christine Kamm-Kyburz

Christine Kamm-Kyburz (born April 20, 1949 in Zug ; † January 28, 2019 ) was a Swiss art historian .

Life

Christine Kamm-Kyburz was the oldest of five children of the Zug-based turned parts manufacturer Heinrich Kyburz and his wife Martha Murer. She attended the canton school in Zug , where she completed the Matura type B in 1968 . In the same year she began studying art history (major) at the University of Zurich, with minor subjects in archeology and journalism . In the following years she worked on the features section of the Zuger Tagblatt , stayed several times in London and Northern Italy and took part in international art-historical conferences. In 1971 she was on the board of theZuger Kunstgesellschaft elected. In 1976 she married the architect and art collector Peter Kamm (1935–2008). In 1979 she was elected to the culture commission of the canton of Zug . In 1981 she did her doctorate at the University of Zurich under Adolf Reinle with a thesis on Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi .

Kamm-Kyburz published works on architecture and art from the 18th to the 21st century. She worked for the Kunsthaus Zug for many years ; In 1998 she co-founded the Kamm Collection Foundation . In 2014 she was ad interim president of the Zuger Kunstgesellschaft. She was on the business committee of the Swiss Homeland Security . She was a member of the Swiss Landscape Fund set up by the Federal Assembly and project manager of the Josef Hoffmann estate edition .
