Christian voter unity

The Christian voter unit e. V. (CWE) is a free and independent voter community in the Fulda district .

The CWE was founded on May 3rd, 1967 in Hünfeld . After the regional reform in 1972, it expanded from the old district of Hünfeld into the district and the city of Fulda, after the founding of local associations in the entire district of Fulda, the number of members rose to over 800. Anyone who does not belong to any political party can become a member. It is not a party , but legally an association with over 600 members today. Thomas Grünkorn is the Chairman of the Fulda District Executive. In terms of content, it sees itself as an alternative to the established parties and calls for more “ citizenship ”.

The work of the Christian voter unit is limited to the Fulda district. In 2016, with five seats after the CDU , SPD , AfD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen, it is the fifth largest parliamentary group in the district assembly . It is represented by its own mandate holders in the municipal councils of the municipalities of Burghaun , Eichenzell , Eiterfeld , Hilders , Hofbieber , Künzell , Nüsttal , Petersberg and Poppenhausen and in the city councils of the cities of Fulda and Hünfeld.
