It was founded in 1925 as Christmann, Pfeifer & Co. by Wilhelm Christmann and Otto Pfeifer and consists of the two divisions of building and furnishing. The company's headquarters are in Breidenbach ( Hesse ), with further locations in Angelburg , Elster, Erfurt , Freiberg , Gotha , Hamburg , Leipzig , Legnica ( Poland ) and Regensburg . Since 1999, the C + P group of companies has been operating a training association at the Breidenbach location with around 60 participating companies.

history

In 1925, Wilhelm Christmann († September 30, 1957) and Otto Pfeifer († December 16, 1971) founded Christmann, Pfeifer & Co. in Biedenkopf - Wallau to manufacture sheet metal and steel products for the construction industry. After the company was converted into an open trading company (Christmann & Pfeifer OHG) in 1931, the company moved into the new premises in Breidenbach .

In the years after the global economic crisis , the production halls were expanded and the manufacture of steel lockers began. In 1936 Jacob Hainbach joined the OHG as a further personally liable partner. Although the company struggled with material shortages after World War II, no employees were laid off. On the contrary: by the end of 1946 the C + P group of companies already had 244 employees. In 1949, after the departure of Doctor Siebeneicher, who was appointed as managing director by the American military government, Jacob Hainbach took over the management.

In 1976 the company C + P Elementbau GmbH & Co. KG was founded with the business purpose of producing and selling movable partition wall systems.

In the mid-1980s, C + P got into economic difficulties, from which the company emerged significantly strengthened through a fundamental restructuring and reorganization. Rolf Heinecke became the new managing director of Christmann & Pfeifer GmbH & Co. KG. With the takeover of the "Gothaer Metallwarenfabrik" in 1991, the subsidiary C + P Stahlmöbel GmbH & Co. KG was founded. In 1996, C + P Industrietechnik GmbH & Co. KG took over the steel construction division of Saxonia AG Freiberg . In 1996 the C + P group of companies was restructured again and assumed the function of a holding company.

Education Centre

In 1999 C + P founded the “Alliance for Training” in Breidenbach . The C + P Bildungszentrum is Hesse's largest metal training association and is funded by the State of Hesse and the EU . Participating partners (training advisory board ) are the member companies in the Marburg-Biedenkopf region , the Marburg-Biedenkopf district job center, Lahn-Dill-Arbeit GmbH, the Federal Employment Agency , the Dillenburg Chamber of Commerce and the Biedenkopf vocational schools . The number of participating companies from the region has now grown to 60, with trainees completing their first year of training at the C + P training center.

Especially for companies that have little training capacity, the alliance offers the opportunity to train qualified skilled workers during the first year and to prepare them for exams during the course of the training. In 2000 the member companies sent 40 trainees to Breidenbach . Up to 85 new trainees are now being looked after at the training center every year. Ten of them are each employed by C + P, the others are distributed among the other participating companies.

With Mike Martin, C + P provided the state and national winner in 1997 in the professional competition for young people in the field of "construction mechanic, metal and shipbuilding technology". In 2007 Stefanie Grebe and Adam Bodo were recognized as national winners in their training professions. In 2019, the company again presented a national winner: Tobias Rottenfusser completed his training as a technical system planner as the best nationwide.
