Christof Biebricher

Christof Kurt Biebricher (born December 15, 1941 in Schopfheim ; † February 17, 2009 ) was a German scientist and university professor .

Life

Biebricher worked as a professor at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen . In his research he dealt with the mechanisms of chemical evolution . In particular, he investigated enzyme-free replication and evolution of RNA , prebiotic RNA synthesis, and evolution in viruses. This is what models of reproduction in the earliest forms of life on earth are based on. He was made public by a contribution in the news magazine Der Spiegel. Was life in the ice? known.

In addition to his academic work, Christof Biebricher worked as a part-time organist for the organ of the St. Marien parish church and choirmaster at St. Marien in Göttingen . In addition, he published free sheet music in the Werner Icking Music Archive (WIMA) as an editor .
