Christof Leng

Christof Leng (born September 14, 1975 in Friedberg , Hessen ) is a German computer scientist and was the first federal chairman of the Pirate Party Germany .

Life

Leng studied and worked at the Technical University of Darmstadt , where he obtained his doctorate in 2012 on peer-to-peer networks. He then worked as a visiting scholar at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, California.

In 2014, he joined Google as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). Since 2017 he has been leading an SRE team at Google's Munich office.

politics

Leng was involved in the organization of the founding of the Pirate Party Germany and chaired the founding assembly on September 10, 2006. There he was elected as the first Federal Board Chairman of the Pirate Party Germany. The following year he was replaced by Jens Seipenbusch .

He was active on the management bodies of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) in various positions, including as an elected member of the Presidium (2008–2012), as spokesman for the Advisory Board for Young Scientists (WiN) and as Vice President of the GI (2012–2015) .
