Sebastian Matthias Nerz (born July 13, 1983 in Reutlingen ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From May 2011 to April 2012 he was federal chairman of the Pirate Party Germany .

Life

In 2002, Nerz graduated from the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule in Tübingen . After completing his community service at the German Red Cross , he began studying bioinformatics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen in 2003 , which he completed in 2010. On October 15, 2011, he married his long-term partner.

politics

Nerz was an active member of the CDU in the Tübingen local association from 2001 to 2004 and last ran unsuccessfully at 33rd position on the party list in the 2004 Tübingen municipal council elections. In 2009 he resigned from the CDU.

After joining the Pirate Party in the Bundestag election year 2009 , he acted there from November of the same year as an assessor in the newly founded Tübingen district association and as coordinator of the regional policy working group in the Baden-Württemberg state association , from April 2010 to May 2011 as its chairman. In May 2011 he was elected federal chairman at the federal party conference. At the federal party conference in April 2012, he was defeated by his previous deputy, Bernd Schlömer, in the renewed election as federal chairman . Nerz was elected deputy federal chairman.

Nerz was elected to number 1 on the state list of the Pirate Party of Baden-Württemberg for the 2013 federal election. He also ran as a direct candidate in the Tübingen constituency .

In February 2014 he left the Pirate Party and in October 2015 he joined the FDP.

Positions

In a comment in the Frankfurter Allgemeine , he contradicted the idea of ​​unending economic growth , citing The Limits of Growth and Meinhard Miegel, and called for the end of the " sustainability lie".

In December 2012, Nerz was in charge of founding the so-called "Frankfurter Kollegium", an interest group within the PIRATE.
