Christoph Herndler

Christoph Herndler (* 1964 in Gaspoltshofen ) is an Austrian composer and musician .

Live and act

Herndler studied organ with Alfred Mitterhofer and electroacoustics at the Vienna University of Music a . a. Composition with Roman Haubenstock-Ramati . After completing his studies in 1989, he completed study visits at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), Stanford University (1989 to 1990), at the Department of visual art, University of California (1992) and at the Claremont Graduate School (CGS) Art Department, Claremont , Los Angeles County .

Herndler was a member of the Klangforum Wien until 1992 . He has been a member of the MAERZ artists' association since 1994 . In 1997 he founded the Ensemble EIS. His work focuses on graphic and intermedia scores, which can also be realized in non-musical forms of representation. He creates notation objects, music installations and video works as well as art in public spaces . Compositions were u. a. realized by the duo Stump-Linshalm .
