Duo Stump-Linshalm

The Austrian clarinetists Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm appear as the Stump-Linshalm Duo .

Petra Stump studied clarinet at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory . From 1994 to 2002 he studied concert with Johann Hindler at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In addition, she studied bass clarinet with Harry Sparnaay at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (1997–1999) and was in Ernesto Molinari's master class at the Bern University of the Arts (1999–2002).

Heinz-Peter Linshalm studied clarinet from 1988 to 1993 at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory of the Province of Burgenland in Eisenstadt with Ewald Ivanschitz and from 1993 to 2002 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Peter Schmidl and Johann Hindler . He specialized in the bass clarinet with Ernesto Molinari at the Bern University of the Arts and graduated in 2004 with a soloist diploma.

Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm have been working as a clarinet duo in the field of classical and contemporary music for several years. Time and again, composers have composed works for this duo that expand the clarinet literature. With the CD born to be off-road , released in 2005 by ein_klang records, the Stump-Linshalm duo took stock of their collaboration with contemporary composers. The Pasticciopreis from Radio Austria 1 honors this work. In 2006 the second CD by the duo 1 + 1 = 1 with music by Pierluigi Billone was released by KAIROS. Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm regularly hold workshops on contemporary clarinet music.
