Christoph Menz (born December 22, 1988 in Magdeburg ) is a German football player .
Career
Born in Magdeburg, Menz started playing soccer at SG Messtron Magdeburg when he was five . Two years later he moved to 1. FC Magdeburg before joining 1. FC Union Berlin in 2000 . With the "Eiserne" he celebrated his competitive debut for the first men's team in the Berlin Cup against SV Lichtenberg 47 on September 12, 2007 . In the same season he also came to 15 (mostly short) missions in the Regionalliga Nord and qualified with Union for the new single-track third professional league . There Menz remained a supplementary player, but got more playing time in 23 games. With 1. FC Union he was promoted to the second Bundesliga this season and also won the Berlin Cup, where he played all seven games.
In the following second division season he was only used more often in the second half of the season and played mostly in the Berlin League for the second team. After that, Menz increasingly established himself in the first team and played 27 season games in each of the following two years. Nevertheless, he never got completely beyond the role of the supplementary player with coach Uwe Neuhaus , which is why his contract, which expired in summer 2013, was not extended. Thereupon Menz joined the league competitor Dynamo Dresden .
For the 2014/15 season, Menz moved to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . In January 2018 he left the club in the direction of Cologne, to third division competitor Fortuna . In August 2018, Fortuna terminated his contract at Menz's request. He then joined FC Viktoria Berlin in the Regionalliga Nordost .
During the winter break of the third division season 2018/19 , the midfielder switched to the relegation-threatened Eintracht from Braunschweig , with whom he was able to hold the class at the end of the season in tenth place in the table.
Following the season, Menz prematurely terminated his contract, which was still valid until June 2021, for personal reasons and returned to Viktoria Berlin.
