Christoph Raedel

Christoph Raedel (born December 3, 1971 ) is an Evangelical Methodist theologian and professor of systematic theology at the Free Theological University of Giessen (FTH) .

Life

Raedel studied Protestant theology in Rostock, Halle, Cambridge and Reutlingen from 1991 to 1999 . From 1999 to 2002 he did his doctorate at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg on the subject of Methodist Theology in the 19th Century . During his studies and doctoral studies, Raedel was supported by grants from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and is now the foundation's liaison lecturer himself. From 2002 to 2005 he worked at the University of Halle-Wittenberg on a - as yet unfinished - habilitation thesis on an ecclesiological topic.

From 2005 he was a lecturer at the YMCA college , from 2009 a lecturer and from 2011 to 2014 professor for ecumenical theology at the YMCA University in Kassel. On April 1, 2014 Raedel was appointed professor for systematic theology and the history of theology at the Free Theological University of Giessen. At the beginning of 2016 he became director of the local Institute for Ethics and Values.

His teaching and research focus are ecumenics, ecclesiology , ethics and denominational studies .

Raedel is married and has four children.
