Volleyball career

Christoph Schieder came to volleyball through the Wittelsbacher Gymnasium in Munich and started his club career in 1976 at TSV 1860 Munich . Even then, the future national and Bundesliga coach Stelian Moculescu was one of his coaches. With Moculescu, Schieder moved to VC / TV Passau in 1982 and initially played in the 2nd team. Schieder made his debut in the German Volleyball Bundesliga in the 1983/84 season and was appointed to the national volleyball team in December 1983 under the then national coach Zbigniew Jasiukiewicz .

In 1984 Christoph Schieder moved to Hamburger SV , where he won the German Cup in 1985 and German champion three times in a row from 1985 to 1987. Together with Frank Mackerodt , Leif Andersson , Christian Voss and Hauke Braack , he formed the core of the championship team at that time.

In 1987 Schieder moved back to Bavaria, initially to ASV Dachau , with whom he had to accept relegation from the 1st Bundesliga in the 1987/88 season. He then joined his old club TSV 1860 Munich around the then national coach Stelian Moculescu. In 1989 Christoph Schieder took part in the European championship in Stockholm with the national team. Also in 1989, the volleyball department of TSV 1860 switched to TSV Milbertshofen and subsequently became German cup winners in 1990 and German champions in 1991. The team then disintegrated and Christoph Schieder switched to FTM Schwabing . There he played for a few years in the 2nd Bundesliga and later in the Bayern League.
