Christoph Zürrer

Christoph Zürrer (born September 17, 1969 ) is a Swiss politician of the Social Democratic Party . He has been a member of the Glarus district council since 2003 and president of the SP district council group since 2006.

biography

Zürrer was born on September 17, 1969, the youngest of three children. He grew up in Kollbrunn , Canton Zurich , and graduated in 1989 from the Matura type B at the canton school Rychenberg in Winterthur . He studied general history and German at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1998 with a licentiate .

Zürrer has been working at the Cantonal School in Glarus since 1996 , initially as a lecturer in history and since 2000 as the main teacher. Zürrer is married and has three children. He has lived in Glarus with his family since 1998 . For a long time Zürrer was active in the scouts in the cantons of Zurich and Glarus.

politics

In 2002 Zürrer joined the SP Mollis. He has been a member of the Glarus District Administrator since 2003 . In 2005, Zürrer became President of SP Mollis and in 2007 a member of the board of SP Glarus Nord, which succeeded SP Mollis in the course of the Glarus community reform . Christoph Zürrer has been President of the SP district council and a member of the cantonal management since 2006. Zürrer submitted motions to the district administrator on the subjects of energy funds, the principle of publicity and the multi-year public transport program . He ran in the replacement elections on February 8, 2009 for the National Council seat of the resigned Werner Marti . In this election, however, Zürrer had to be content with second place behind Martin Landolt .
