Christopher Bodó ( Hungarian Bodó Christopher ; born August 5, 1991 in St. Thomas , Ontario ) is a Canadian - Hungarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with MAC Budapest since November 2017 and has played with the club in the Slovakian extra league since 2018 .

Career

Christopher Bodó initially played for various youth teams in his Canadian homeland. He was elected to the Second All-Star Team of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League during his time with the Strathroy Rockets in 2010. During his studies he played for the Mercyhurst Lakers, the student team at Mercyhurst University , in the Atlantic Hockey , one of the leagues of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In 2013 he reached the playoff final with the Lakers, which was lost to the Canisius College team with 7-2. In 2014 he won the regular season with his team, but retired early in the playoffs. In 2015 he moved to Europe, where he was initially on the ice for Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian ice hockey league for two years . He then went to the Lausitzer Füchsen in the DEL2 , but returned to MAC Budapest in November 2017 and won both the MOL league and the Hungarian championship with the club in 2018 . In 2018 he moved to the Slovak extra league with MAC .

International

After his naturalization, Bodó made his debut for the Hungarian national team in the 2016/17 season . At the 2018 World Cup he played with the Magyars in Division I.
