Christopher Joseph Weldon

Christopher Joseph Weldon (born September 6, 1905 in New York City , United States , † March 19, 1982 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Springfield .

Life

Christopher Joseph Weldon received on 21 September 1929, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 28, 1950, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Springfield. The Archbishop of Boston , Richard Cushing , donated him episcopal ordination on March 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of New York , Cardinal Francis Spellman , and the Auxiliary Bishop of New York, Stephen Joseph Donahue .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On October 15, 1977, Christopher Joseph Weldon resigned as Bishop of Springfield.
