Christopher Rawlinson
Christopher Lee "Chris" Rawlinson (born May 19, 1972 in Rotherham ) is a former British hurdler who specialized in the 400 meter distance . Because of his sprint strength , he was also used in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 he was eliminated in the preliminary stages, and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he reached the semifinals.
In 2001 he was fifth at the World Championships in Edmonton . At the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 , he won the 400 m hurdles and with the English 4 x 400 meter relay. Shortly afterwards he reached the final at the European Athletics Championships in Munich , but had to give up there. At the Athletics World Cup in Madrid he was third.
In 2003 he was sixth over the 400 m hurdles at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis and came fourth with the British 4 x 400 meter relay. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he reached the semi-finals.
In 2006 he finished eighth at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne .
He was English champion six times in a row (1999-2004). In the rarely held 300-meter hurdles, he set a world record on June 30, 2002 in Sheffield with 34.48 seconds.
From 2006 to 2011 he was married to the Australian hurdler Jana Pittman .
