Circus of Power was an American hard rock and metal band. It was founded in New York City in 1986 and existed until the mid-1990s.
history
The band initially consisted of singer Alex Mitchell, guitarists Ricky Mahler and Gary Sunshine, bassist Craymore Stevens and drummer Ryan Maher. The band played in New York for some time before they could get a record deal with RCA Records . Around 1990 Zowie joined as a bass player. In 1990 Circus of Power opened for Black Sabbath on the tour for their album Tyr . Zowie was eventually replaced by Marc "Frap" Frappier. In 1991 the band signed with Columbia Records and moved to Los Angeles . On Columbia they brought out Magic & Madness in 1993 , which did not do badly with critics, but was denied major commercial success. The band broke up around 1995.
In 2009 the band played a reunion show in Los Angeles .
