Cirilo Saucedo (born January 5, 1982 in Acámbaro , Guanajuato ) is a Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

Life

Inspired by his father, who was also a soccer goalkeeper, Saucedo began playing soccer at his hometown club in Acámbero, who played in the fourth-class Tercera División , and provided trial training sessions with the first division clubs Atlas and America , but could not recommend himself for a contract there and began his professional career with Club León .

In his first game for the Esmeraldas he did not concede a goal, but still had no reason to celebrate; because the zero number on June 1, 2002 in the home game against the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz in the decisive relegation game for relegation was too little after the 1: 3 first leg defeat to ensure that he remained in the top division, so that Saucedo with León from now on in the second-rate Primera División 'A' had to play. In the Clausura 2003, the second half of the 2002/03 season, León succeeded in the second division championship, but the Esmeraldas had to admit defeat in the promotion games against arch rivals Irapuato (1: 2 and 0: 1), who had won the Apertura in 2002. The story repeated itself in the 2003/04 season when León again won the Clausura and again had to admit defeat to the winner of the Apertura (this time the Dorados de Sinaloa with 2: 2 and 1: 2).

While León had to wait until the 2012/13 season to return to the first division , Saucedo made the jump to the Primera División in the 2004/05 season , at the beginning of which he was signed by the promoted Dorados and immediately became their goalkeeper, who guarded the goal in 67 of 68 games in the following two seasons. Saucedo made his debut in the top Mexican division on the first day of the match at the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City , when the Dorados had to admit defeat just 3-2 against the capital city America on August 15, 2004.

After the Dorados were relegated to the end of the 2005/06 season again from the first division, Saucedo moved to the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz, where he could not prevail and only came to three missions in the 2006 Apertura . Therefore, he moved to the UANL Tigres during the winter break , for which he (with the exception of the 2008/09 season , when he was loaned to the newly promoted Indios de Ciudad Juarez ) worked until the summer of 2011.

Before the 2011/12 season, he moved to the newly promoted Xolos de Tijuana , with whom he surprisingly won the championship title in the Apertura 2012 and played all Xolos games in full in this round. In addition to coach Mohamed , Saucedo is considered to be "the" guarantee of success for the championship team due to his first-class saves. So Saucedo was the most celebrated player at the reception of the championship team in Tijuana town hall , where the celebrants cheered with “Cirilo! Cirilo! ”- shouting given expression.
