City and Color
City and Color is an acoustic solo project by Alexisonfire - guitarist and singer Dallas Green (born September 29, 1980 in St. Catherines , Ontario ). The name of the project is derived from the first and last name of the musician: Dallas , a city ( City ) and Green, English for the color green ( Color ).
history
Dallas Green started his solo project while he was still active with Alexisonfire. He began playing solo concerts on which he sold his first extended play The Death of Me . The first album Sometimes appeared on November 1, 2005. Before he released the single Missing in an edition of 1000 pieces; profit from the sales went to the Denis Morris High School Star Vathon. He toured Canada with Sometimes , the album sold very well there. In addition, Green received the Juno Award for the best alternative album of the year.
For the benefit - tribute album Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young coverte he 2007 the song Cowgirl in the Sand . After a live album , his second album, Bring Me Your Love, followed in 2008 with Gordon Downie ( Tragically Hip ) and Ian Romano and Spencer Burton (both Attack in Black ).
In 2011 Alexisonfire broke up and Green could concentrate on his solo career. Little Hell (2011) was produced by Alex Newport ( The Mars Volta ). On May 31, 2013, the album The Hurry and the Harm was released , with which Dallas Green was able to place itself in the German charts for the first time and which became a number one hit in Canada . All studio albums were awarded a platinum record in Canada . In October 2014, Dallas Green released the album Rose Ave together with the singer P! NK under the project name You + Me .
