Clarence Edward "Dolly" Dolson (born May 23, 1897 in Hespeler , Ontario ; † August 19, 1976 in Stratford , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who during his active career between 1919 and 1933 for the Detroit Cougars and Detroit Falcons, among others played in the National Hockey League .

Career

After various stations in lower leagues, Dolson joined the Stratford Nationals from the Canadian Professional Hockey League in 1926 , with whom he won the league championship in 1928. Then the team disbanded. About the Inter-League Draft 1928, the goalkeeper finally came to the Detroit Cougars in the National Hockey League , whose goalkeeper he was in the 1928/29 season . The following year he came to only a few NHL appearances for the Cougars and played mainly for the London Panthers in the International Hockey League . For the season 1930/31 Dolson then returned permanently to the squad of the NHL team, which now operated under the name Detroit Falcons .

For the 1931/32 season, the Canadian moved back to the International Hockey League, where he spent the last two years of his career with the Cleveland Indians .
