Claude Perry (born October 31, 1901 in Goodsprings , Alabama , † July 17, 1975 , ibid) was an American American football player . He played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Green Bay Packers .

Player career

College career

Claude Perry attended high school in Jasper , Alabama, and then studied at the University of Alabama . There he played football for the Alabama Crimson Tide with Jim Bowdoin . In 1925 he and his team won the national college football championship . His team remained undefeated that year and also won the Rose Bowl against the University of Washington 20:19. The following year Perry was able to defend the championship title with his team. For his athletic achievements, Perry was also recognized by his college in 1925 .

Professional career

Claude Perry was signed by the Green Bay Packers in 1927 . Head coach of the team was Curly Lambeau , who used Perry in various positions. Lambeau was able to lead his team to the top of the NFL by signing top players like John McNally or Arnie Herber . The team from Green Bay was able to win the NFL championship in 1929 with 12 wins out of 13 games . The second title win in a row followed in 1930 . The team had again only managed to lose one of 14 games. The 1931 season was also successful for the Packers. After twelve wins in two draws, Perry was able to secure the third title with his team. Claude Perry retired after the game round in 1935 .
