Claude Pignot

Claude Jean Alain Abel Pignot (born May 2, 1923 in Rouen , † November 1, 2014 in Alençon ) was a French film architect .

Life

Little is known about Pignot's career. After completing his artistic training, he did not come across film until the age of about 40 and initially served as assistant set designer for Jacques Demy's single film productions The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Girls of Rochefort with Catherine Deneuve in the lead role. Almost at the same time, Pignot began working as chief architect for high-quality entertainment films. Pignot designed the buildings to several box office successes in the 1960s and early 1970s and also worked with a number of renowned filmmakers such as François Truffaut , Agnès Varda , André Delvaux and Georges Franju . His track has been lost since the mid-1990s.
