Claudia Brücken (born December 7, 1963 in Berching in the Upper Palatinate ) is a German singer.

Career

Bridges, who grew up in Düsseldorf , was a frequent visitor to the trendy bar Ratinger Hof and, together with her friend Susanne Freytag, joined the synthpop band The Tripolinas at the age of 16 . Three years later, Freytag and Brücken were signed by the English record label ZTT Records to sing for the synthpop band Propaganda by frontman Ralf D Körper and producer Trevor Horn . The head of ZTT was Paul Morley , who later became Brücken's husband. Propaganda was used to build bridges through hits like Dr. Mabuse , Duel and p: Machinery known to a wide audience. Her chilled singing was compared to that of Marlene Dietrich and Nico . She also starred in the 1991 song Run from Love with Jimmy Somerville. But according to Brücken, Freytag, like her, were only seen as “replaceable, smiling dolls”, whereupon she left the band in an argument.

According to propaganda , in 1987, Brücken founded another ZTT band called Act with the English keyboardist Thomas Leer , but they only played for one year. After having a child with her husband Paul Morley but later divorcing, she left the music business in 1991 to "be a single mother".

After years of comeback attempts by propaganda had been smashed, Brücken founded the band Onetwo with her partner Paul Humphreys in 2004 and worked here a. a. with Martin Gore ( Depeche Mode ), later also with Andy Bell from Erasure . In the computer game LA Noire (2011), Brücken gave the character Elsa Lichtmann her voice for three songs.
