Claudia Steger-Richter , born Steger , (* 24. April 1959 in Augsburg ) is a former German athlete who had to sprint specialized.

As a teenager and junior she was multiple German champion. In 1975 she won the bronze medal with the German 4 x 100 meter relay at the Junior European Championships in Athens . Two years later in Donetsk, the relay won the silver medal. In these three disciplines she also represented the DLV in the same year at the European Cup in Zagreb and came fourth in each case.

In 1982 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Milan over 200 meters. In the open-air season, Steger was German champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay. At the European Championships in Athens, she started in the 400-meter run , but was eliminated in the preliminary run. She won her last German championships in the hall in 1983 with the 4 x 200 meter relay and in 1984 with the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Steger started for TSV Göggingen and LG Bayer Leverkusen . In 1989 she married the hurdler Wolfgang Richter .
