The TSV Göggingen 1875 is a sports club from the Augsburg district Göggingen , founded 1875th The club achieved greater successes especially in handball and athletics , but also has departments for football , gymnastics , table tennis , gymnastics and volleyball .
Soccer
The football department of TSV Göggingen was founded on April 20, 1913. The first documented game took place on March 23 of the same year and ended with a 2-0 win against TV Pfersee Augsburg . A first major success of the department was the entry into the final of the Bavarian championship in gymnastics football, which was lost on March 16, 1930 against TV 1860 Fürth but clearly 1: 4.
After the end of the Second World War , the footballers achieved the greatest success in the history of the department in the summer of 1946 when they were promoted to the Landesliga Bayern , the second highest league in German football at the time. After only one season, however, a 1: 2 defeat in the decider against FC Haidhof was followed by immediate relegation. In the following decades the TSV Göggingen was to be found several times in the Landesliga Süd and the subordinate district upper or district leagues . He now only plays in the Augsburg district league.
