Claus Koch (musician)
Claus Koch (born May 1, 1967 in Altenkirchen , Westerwald ) is a German jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , composition ).
Koch studied at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts and continued his studies with Barry Harris in New York. In 1996 he founded his band The Boperators . In his music he combines influences of bebop with Afro-Cuban music and soul jazz . He also worked with Charly Antolini , Lili Thornton, Roman Schwaller , Al Porcino and Dusko Goykovich . He is currently working with Pete York's trio , the Claus Raible Bop-chestra and the Annette Neuffer quintet .
