Claus Wehlisch

Claus Wehlisch (* 1972 in Berlin ) is a German film editor .

Life

Claus Wehlisch trained as a sound engineer at the SAE Institute in London from 1993 to 1995 . From the end of the 1990s, however, he was mainly active in film editing . As an assistant editor or co-editor, he worked on several large-scale productions, including Eyes Wide Shut (1999), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), 10,000 BC (2008), The Three Musketeers (2011) and Cloud Atlas (2012). As an independent editor, he has been involved in more than a dozen film and television productions.

In 2016 he was honored with the German Camera Prize for the television crime thriller Polizeiruf 110: And forgive us our guilt .

Claus Wehlisch has been a member of the board of the Bundesverband Filmschnitt Editor eV (BFS) since 2016 . He is also a member of the German Film Academy .
