Clayton M. Christensen
Clayton M. Christensen (* 6. April 1952 in Salt Lake City , Utah ; † 23. January 2020 in Boston , Massachusetts ) was an American economist , author, business consultant and Bishop of Mormon .
Life
Christensen had been Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School since 1992 . He previously worked for the Boston Consulting Group and the US Department of Commerce .
His main research interests were strategy , disruptive market changes and innovations in companies. In his book The Innovator's Dilemma (1997) he discussed his theory of disruptive technology . His ideas are said to have shaped Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos , among others .
Christensen died in January 2020 of complications from leukemia.
