The Clear Creek ( English for "Klarer Bach") is a 40 km long left tributary of the Hocking River in the southeastern US state of Ohio .

The outflow is via the Hocking River, Ohio River and Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico . Clear Creek is part of the Mississippi river system and drains an area of ​​231 km². The river rises 2 km east of the town of Royalton in western Fairfield County , then flows in a south-westerly direction into Hocking County and passes the Clear Creek Metro Park , before flowing into the Hocking River at Rockbridge. The Clear Creek Metro Park is the largest of 14 natural parks in Ohio and stretches from northern Hocking County to southern Fairfield County for a total of 19.1 km², in which more than 800 different plants and 150 species of birds have been counted. Typical for the valley of the Clear Creek are sandstone cliffs, rock formations, and mixed forests of oak, hickory , hemlock and rhododendron bushes .
