Attractions by the river
The Luxembourg Northern Railway follows the river between Troisvierges and Kautenbach . The route is now used exclusively for passenger trains that run every hour between Troisvierges and Luxembourg (city) . There are trains to Belgium and Liège every two hours.
At Troisvierges , a nature trail leads into the Cornelys Millen wetland. The "Sentier des Passeurs" follows an escape route on which from 1943 Luxembourg conscientious objectors were smuggled to Belgium.
The largest and most interesting place is Clervaux with the castle and the Family of Man .
In the Kiischpelt the water of the river drives the Rackés Millen "in the district of Enscherange. This is the only functioning watermill in the Ösling . The district of Lellingen with its old farmhouses and daffodils is also worth seeing .
The most scenic section of the valley is between Lellingen and Kautenbach . Here the valley narrows to a kerbsohlental with river terraces and striking valley meanders . Apart from the railway line, there are only hiking trails and a bike path.
From Kautenbach a nature trail leads up to the Hockslay (see photo) and to the observation tower (with a good panoramic view of the Ösling with its plateaus and deeply cut valleys).
Along the course of the river one can find numerous remains of the earlier meadow irrigation , here called " Fléizen ".
