Clive Mantle (born June 3, 1957 in Barnet , Hertfordshire ) is a British actor .

Life

Mantle trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . He gained greater fame in German-speaking countries through one of his first television roles, as Little John in the British television series Robin Hood . He had another recurring role between 1988 and 1998 as Mike Barrett in the series Casualty . He actually made his film debut in 1987 in Superman IV - The World on the Edge , but his appearance was cut out and only featured on DVD in 2006 as bonus material . His other feature film roles include Clint Eastwood's White Hunter, Black Heart and Alien 3 , among others . He also worked as a narrator in the radio play production of Doctor Who . In the 2011 fantasy series Game of Thrones , he played Jon Umber , a vassal of the Stark family, who first appeared in the eighth episode of the first season.
