Cody Matthew Laurendi (born August 15, 1988 in Melbourne , Florida ) is an American football goalkeeper who is currently the substitute goalkeeper for Puerto Rico Islanders FC with play in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second-highest division in North American football , under Contract stands.

Career

Career start in Florida

Born in Melbourne, Florida in 1988, Laurendi discovered his love for football at the age of four. At a young age he came to the Brevard Youth Soccer League , mainly through his father , where he is still engaged as a referee for youth games. There he worked for the youth football clubs Space Coast United , Satellite Beach SC and Melbourne Eau Gallie / MEGU SC and was mostly used as a striker or goalkeeper. In 2002 he finally came to Eau Gallie High School , which was already known for its sports department in the 1980s, and was used in the school teams in soccer and American football , where he held the position of kicker . In parallel, he played from 2005 for the youth club Orlando FC QPR , where he was finally in use until 2007 and 2008. Already in 2006 he finished his high school time and was still in his last year at the Brevard County All-Star Game for the MVP award since it was used as a field player, while four times came to scoring. In the same year, Laurendi began studying at South Georgia College , where he was a member until 2007. Via Belgium to Puerto Rico

In the professional squad he was classified as the second goalkeeper behind the number 1 Bill Gaudet ; the other two young goalkeepers, in contrast, had to leave the club before the start of the season. Laurendi came to his first professional league use, after he had already spent numerous games on the bench, on July 15, 2010, when he guarded the goal of his team for the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 away draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies . By the end of the 2010 season, the 22-year-old played in other league games and was also part of the team's squad when it took part in the 2010/11 CONCACAF Champions League and was eliminated from the group stage. At the end of the 2010 game year, the team was allowed to call itself champions of the USSF Division 2 Professional League after having passed the playoffs.
