Colin Beardsmore (born February 7, 1978 in Peterborough , Ontario ) is a former German - Canadian ice hockey player who played eleven seasons in the German Ice Hockey League for seven teams.

Career

The left winger , who was selected in the seventh round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 as 189th overall by the Detroit Red Wings , began his professional career in 1995 in the Ontario Hockey League with the Detroit Whalers . During the 1995/96 season he moved to the North Bay Centennials , and the Canadian did not finish the next season with the same club, as he moved to the Owen Sound Platers after 40 games . After the 1997/98 season, Beardsmore hired the Adirondack Red Wings , the farm team of his Draft Club Detroit in the American Hockey League , and later in the season he also played for the Toledo Storm in the East Coast Hockey League . After the left-handed shooter was active for the Canadian team at the University of New Brunswick the next year , he moved to the German Ice Hockey League for the Iserlohn Roosters for the 2000/01 season , which he left after a year for the Augsburg Panthers . After another season with the Kölner Haien , the attacker spent the following season with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .

Before the 2008/09 season , Colin Beardsmore moved to the Kassel Huskies , but was already given to Adler Mannheim in October 2008 . He stayed there for two years before moving back to his former club in Nuremberg. In June 2011 he signed a contract for one season with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , which was not renewed.
