Collombey-Muraz is a political municipality and a civil parish with a civic council in the district of Monthey in the French-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland .

economy
In Collombey there is an old quarry, in which significant quantities of a predominantly gray-purple limestone were extracted. This stone was used for church interiors and other upscale church furnishings in the cantons of Vaud and Valais under the name Marbre de Collombey . Today the quarry is a communal landfill.
From 1963 until its closure in 2015, one of the two Swiss refineries , the Collombey refinery, was located here . The company obtained the crude oil from the port of Genoa across the Alps through the Oléoduc du Rhône pipeline .
