Come to My Kingdom is the sixth studio album by the American melodic rock band House of Lords .

Emergence

The album was recorded in 2007 and 2008 in the studio of the singer James Christian, who also produced the album . It contains 14 tracks, one of which, Another day From Heaven, exists twice and, in an acoustically recorded version, functions as a bonus track for the European edition of the album. Christian's wife, singer Robin Beck , can be heard as a guest musician ; Swedish guitarist and songwriter Tommy Denander was also involved in the songwriting and as a further guest musician (guitars and keyboards) .

Cover

Since the band's debut album, which was released in 1987, the covers of all of the band's albums had featured a coat of arms held by two lions . Come to My Kingdom is so far the only album by the group that does not show this symbol. All elements (coat of arms, lions, crown) of the original motif are included, but the arrangement does not correspond at all to the usual design.

publication

The album was released on CD in Europe on March 17th, 2008 .

reception

Rock Hard magazine wrote that the House of Lords delivered "one of the big surprises" . Singer James Christian "proves his feeling for poignant melodies and even more poignant vocals as usual" , but it is even more impressive that "Come to My Kingdom " is convincing "over the entire length of the game" . At no time did “this masterpiece drift into insignificance” , but delight with 14 “high-quality and at the same time catchy” numbers that were “really crisp” produced by Christian . Starting with the "rousing title track about the catchy tunes" I Need to Fly , I Don't Wanna Wait All Night , In a Perfect World , In the Light and One Touch to the ballads The Dream and I Believe, there are "simply no weaknesses" at the album.
