CommanderKrieger (civil: André Krieger ; born November 2, 1979 ) is a German web video producer and gaming commentator, whose videos mostly contain content from various video games. The game is either commented on by the player at the same time ( Let's Plays ) or only afterwards (Commentaries) .

Life

After the army he went to Tel Aviv , where he made training as a bodyguard . For more than six years he worked internationally as a bodyguard and during that time completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant . Due to an extreme injury and rehabilitation, he had to give up his job and worked as a regional manager for Google . Later, Krieger trained in a casino and then worked as a croupier and dealer in a Duisburg casino . Most recently he worked as a croupier on the AIDAluna . Today he works as an independent media producer .

In addition to diving , Krieger's favorite sport is basketball , which he also did successfully himself. Today he uses his fame to get younger people interested in basketball.

Since 2010, Krieger has published under the name CommanderKrieger ( short form CK) on his YouTube channel created on August 21, 2010, recordings he played and commented on various video games, specializing in first-person shooters . Originally he wanted to be called CptKrieger , but after consulting another YouTuber , decided on the name CommanderKrieger . He wanted a military rank in connection with his surname Warrior. His first video was for Modern Warfare 2 . Krieger's preference for computer games arose when he was working in the casino. Since he worked irregularly and didn't get home from work until early in the morning, he started playing. In March 2012, on the occasion of reaching 100,000 subscribers, Krieger then held a 24-hour live stream . Krieger is part of a video maker network that cooperates with a large game manufacturer. Provided that you create a video for the game and publish it on YouTube, Krieger will receive the requested games free of charge. In contrast to most of the other Let's Players who comment on a game in parallel with the recording, Krieger usually comments on the recorded games afterwards.

On March 23, 2013, MyVideo first broadcast Let's Play Poker . Krieger was present with some PietSmiet members and other YouTubers. The show was sponsored by PokerStars and the proceeds were donated to a charity. Krieger won this event. In the continuation of Let's Play Poker 2 in June 2013 , Krieger was also a participant, but could not defend his title.

Krieger criticized the Videoday at Gamescom 2013 because the entry price was too high for the target group and was then supported by other YouTubers. At Gamescom 2013, IDG Verlag presented Krieger and other well-known Let's Players, including Gronkh and Sarazar , their own stage for four days, on which they could prepare and run individual programs for their fans.

Krieger's YouTube channel was one of the more popular German YouTube channels for a long time. Since 2015, the number of video views has fallen sharply, which earned him the nickname "CommanderKlicklos".

Since 2016, Krieger has taken up the hobby of diving, which is also reflected in his videos. He has so far uploaded over 25 diving videos from various locations, as well as recorded two documentaries about diving and published them on his YouTube channel.
