The Communauté de communes de l'Arvan is a former French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department .
The community association founded in November 2001 consisted of eight communities on an area of 230.1 km 2 . It lay in the Savoy High Alps on the border with the Isère department and included the Arvan valley , a tributary of the Arc in the southern Maurienne . The administration was not based in the area of application of the association, but in the adjacent small town of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne , which lies at the confluence of the Arvan and Arc and in turn belonged to the Communauté de communes Cœur de Maurienne .
tasks
The competencies required included developing and promoting economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning as part of a superordinate local authority association, the Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale du Pays de Maurienne . The municipal association steered the housing policy and operated a number of municipal services, including the road maintenance service, rescue services, sewage disposal (partially), garbage collection and garbage disposal. In addition, he built and maintained sports and cultural facilities and organized events in this area.
Historical development
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes Cœur de Maurienne and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes Cœur de Maurienne Arvan .
