Complete Failure is an American grindcore band from Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania that was formed in 2006.

history

The band was formed in 2006. The band made their first appearance on April 14, 2007 at the Pittsburgh White Eagle. Towards the end of the year, the band reached their first record deal, which resulted in their debut album Perversions of Guilt . The band at that time consisted of the singer Joe Mack, the guitarist Erik Wynn, the bassist James Curl and the drummer Mike Rosswog. The sound carrier was recorded, mixed and mastered by Steve Austin , who otherwise works for Today Is the Day . From March to July 2008 the band toured North America and Europe with groups like Today Is the Day, Rwake , Mouth of the Architect , Fuck the Facts and Psyopus . In the same year, the live album Good Things Happening to Bad People - Live from Bern Switzerland was published by the company itself . In April 2009 the band recorded their next album Heal No Evil and released it as a self-release. The album was due to be re-released in 2010 through Relapse Records . In 2012, the album The Art Gospel of Aggravated Assault was self-released , before it was re-released in 2012 via Season of Mist . In the meantime, guitarist Wynn has left the band, whereupon James Curl switched from bass to guitar and Mark Bogacki joined the band as the new bassist.

style

According to Thomas Sonder from metal Hammer, the band on The Art Gospel of Aggravated Assault play fast, aggressive Grindcore comparable to groups like Pig Destroyer and Rotten Sound . The speed remains high almost all the time, but this can become too monotonous in the long run. The use of double bass is also characteristic here. In the song Hero of the Church Herd , in which Mack “speaks in a rage”, he reminds us of Jello Biafra .
