Computerliebe (The modules play crazy) is a song by the German band Paso Doble from 1984, which is attributed to the Neue Deutsche Welle . The music comes from Frank Hieber ; the text by Ulf Krüger . The producers were Udo Arndt and Paso Doble. It also became known through the cover of Das Modul from 1995.
Publication and reception
The song was released as a single from the second album Fantasie in 1984 via WEA Records . It reached number 15 in the German single charts and was placed for 17 weeks, from February 25 to June 17, 1985.
Paso Doble appeared with the song twice in the ZDF hit parade ; on March 27, 1985, the duo was voted first in a TED vote. On April 24, 1985, it was allowed to play the title again. On January 30, 1986, there was also an appearance on the special program Die Superhitparade - Hits des Jahres '85 .
In 2008 a remix of the song was published as Computerliebe (remake) on the download sampler Hautnah .
On July 17, 2017, five different remixes with the title Computerliebe 2K17 were released , in which DJKC (Kai Soffel) and Thomas Stein were among others .
Cover versions
The cover version of Das Modul , which was released by PolyGram in 1995 , was more commercially successful than the original. It reached number three in Germany, number eight in Austria and number eleven in Switzerland . The module received the gold record for the single in the same year .
