Luca (born February 21, 1996 in Bielefeld ; real name Luca Tilo Scharpenberg ) is a German web video producer . He publishes Let's Plays , comedy videos and vlogs on YouTube .

Scharpenberg opened his YouTube channel ConCrafter , which he later found in ConCrafter | Luca and then renamed Luca in May 2019 . At first he mainly uploaded Let's Plays about the game Minecraft . Since mid-2015, videos of other games have also appeared, preferably indie games , which pushed Minecraft into the background. In mid-2016, its channel content changed significantly. More and more challenges, vlogs and comedy videos followed. The Let's Plays faded into the background. Most of the time his face can be seen on the thumbnails of his videos. This is adapted to the content of the video or describes his reaction to the subject of the video. There are various collaborations with other YouTubers. These mainly include KranCrafter and EsKay , as well as rewinside and Julien Bam .

He has been a member of Studio71 since the end of 2015 . The channel had over 4.1 million subscribers in June 2020, making it the 20th most- subscribed YouTube channel in Germany .

He also sells various merchandising with his smiley face through the company Holymesh , which is also his logo on the various social media platforms.

Luca 2

On his second channel Luca 2 (formerly Lucafilmt ) he publishes further vlogs and question-and-answer videos, so-called Q & As . The channel has been called Luca 3 since 2018. However, there have been no new videos on the channel since December 2018.

Lucrew

The Lucrew channel was created in early 2019 as part of an attempt to get 100,000 subscribers in one week. After the channel had already reached 200,000 subscribers after this period of time, Luca used the channel for short vlogs and for future compilations of Twitch streams. Nowadays the Lucrew channel is used for reactions and challenges such as B. "This video ends when ..." or similar used, with which Scharpenberg achieved great success. The channel has 442,000 subscribers (as of May 30, 2020).

Luca Stories

He also operated the Luca Stories channel , on which he uploaded his Instagram stories.

Earlier channels

Scharpenberg's first channel was a joint idea between him and a friend. Let's Plays from The Sims 3 and Minecraft appeared on the channel . Later on, irregular videos were uploaded and so he broke up with the channel. There are no more videos to be found on YouTube today. A short time later his channel ConquerorLp followed , the forerunner of what is now the main channel. This channel was not intended directly for Minecraft, but rather developed in this direction through its content. In order to keep up with the interaction between the Minecraft theme and the name, he opened the ConCrafter channel , on which Minecraft was to be published exclusively. There are no longer any original videos from this channel on YouTube either.

Podcast

Since August 2019, Luca Scharpenberg and his colleague Selfiesandra have been running the comedy podcast Dick & Doof , which appears on Thursdays. Podcast episodes even appeared daily during the COVID-19 pandemic . The podcast is now under contract with Spotify .

Private

Scharpenberg graduated from the Einstein-Gymnasium in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and studied business administration . He lives in Cologne , but is currently building an apartment in Hamburg and is marketing three different pizzas in cooperation with Gustavo Gusto .

The book ConCrafter - New Minecraft Facts and Commands , published on September 24, 2015, had a print run of 45,000 and was sold out after just two days. It reached number 4 in the book report - bestseller list “Non-fiction / paperback”. The book Hallo, mein Name ist Luca , published in December 2017, rose to number 3 on the bestseller list of the same name.
