Confusion is a pop song by the British group New Order , which was released as a single on the British label Factory Records (catalog number FAC 93) in August 1983 . It was the follow-up single to the hit Blue Monday , which was released in March 1983. The piece was produced by New York DJ Arthur Baker . Confusion reached 12th place in the British charts when it was first published in 1983 and was also able to reach the official charts in Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
The piece was used as a techno remix for Pump Panel in the opening scene of the action film Blade (1998). Samples of the pump panel remix were used in the pieces Play it Louder by Randy Katana , Operation Blade by Public Domain and Phat Bass by Warp Brothers & Aquagen , among others .
