action

During a mission to rescue the First Lady from a hostage situation, there is an explosion in which the agent Connors loses his sight.

Three years later, Connors is visited by his former boss Brooks. The latter reports to him that his former agent unit is to be dissolved, as the current president, on the advice of Darryl Greene , wants to rely more on technical measures such as drones and satellites to combat terrorism. Therefore Brooks asks his former protégé Connors to support him on one last mission. Brooks wants Connors to steal the new satellite's central control unit. Brooks wants to hand this over to the president after 24 hours in order to convince him that - instead of relying on people, but on technology - is the riskier endeavor. In this way, Brooks wants to prevent the breakup of his team.

However, Connors cannot carry out this mission without eyesight. Therefore, he undergoes an experimental treatment in which Dr. Mackenzie and his assistant inject a liquid into the eyeball, which solidifies into a tapetum . This allows him to perceive light and colors even more intensely than with healthy eyes. Thanks to his regained eyesight, Connors penetrates the base and paralyzes the power supply. In total darkness, he succeeds in stealing the steel case that his mentor Brooks is after. On his flight, however, triggered by the UV light at dawn, his body reacts to the tapetum. He has an accident with his getaway car, but is already expected by Brooks and with his help he manages to escape with the prey. In order to free himself from the increasing pain and to have the tapetum removed again, Connors is looking for Dr. Mackenzie up. Meanwhile, Brooks examines the contents of the steel case in the presence of Amanda.

Connors wakes up from anesthesia on his houseboat while Amanda prepares lunch for him in the kitchen. Amanda tells him that the contents of the suitcase did not look like a hard drive or control unit, but more like a thermos. Connors then realizes that he was sent to the base on a pretext. Brooks did not want to prevent the dissolution of his unit at any point, instead he was out for revenge. That's why he used Connors to steal a container called "CMC-12", a highly effective nerve gas that was first used in Operation Desert Storm . At that time, Darryl Greene gave the order to launch a nerve gas attack on Iraqi units, even though they had already evacuated Kuwait and were in retreat. Brooks could not forgive Commander Greene for this field test, nor for the dissolution of his unit and his own suspension.

Brooks is now threatening Washington, DC with the nerve gas by holing up across the street from the White House in the same hotel where the first lady was held hostage three years earlier, in which Connor lost his eyesight because Greene ordered the storm to take place There were explosives prepared banquet hall.

Connors lets Amanda inject the tapetum again to get the nerve gas into his possession and save the city. Connor manages to overpower Brooks on the roof of the hotel and prevent the nerve gas from contaminating the city area.

Reviews

"An action film with a pop star in the lead role, technically solid, but with a plot that has already been shot dozens of times in a number of variations."

"Badly played, carelessly wacky - and the action is also amateurish."
