Conrad Anton Beumers
Conrad Anton Beumers (born March 1, 1837 in Erkelenz , † 1921 in Düsseldorf ) was a German goldsmith .
life and work
He completed his apprenticeship in Aachen and founded a goldsmith's workshop in Düsseldorf after his journeyman migration to Paris in 1859. In 1902 he became purveyor to the court and in 1913 court jeweler.
Beumers mainly worked for church and public clients. He is best known for his works in the Romanesque style. In the 1880s Beumers worked several times with the painters Georg Oeder , Carl Gehrts and Alfred Graf von Brühl as well as the sculptors Heinz Müller and Josef Schneider. His son Paul (1865–1950) also became a goldsmith.
