Conrad Clemens (born January 4, 1983 ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since December 20, 2019, he has been State Secretary in the Saxon State Chancellery and authorized representative of the Free State of Saxony at the federal government.

Life

Clemens was born in Schönebeck on the Elbe and grew up in Berlin-Neukölln . From 2002 to 2005 he studied international business administration at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt / Oder and in Maastricht. This was followed by a master’s degree in Vancouver, Canada from 2005 to 2007 and a doctoral degree at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin from 2008 to 2011 . From 2011 to 2012 Conrad Clemens was a consultant at the auditing company PwC and from 2013 to 2014 office manager in the German Bundestag .

politics

From 2009 to 2012 he was state chairman of the Junge Union Berlin. From October 2014 to March 2018, Clemens worked as the federal manager of the Junge Union Deutschlands . In the 2017 federal election campaign, he headed the campaign mobilization team and the door-to-door campaign Connect 17 at the CDU federal office . From April 2018 to December 2019 he was the state manager of the CDU Saxony and was responsible for organizing the 2019 state election campaign .

On December 20, 2019, Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer appointed him State Secretary and Plenipotentiary of the Free State of Saxony at the federal government.
