Containment is an American television series . It is based on the Belgian series Cordon from 2014 and is u. a. after Vampire Diaries, the fourth story, which was adapted by Julie Plec for the station The CW . The series consists of a season and 13 episodes and aired on The CW from April 19 to July 19, 2016. The German-language first broadcast took place on October 5, 2016 on ProSieben .

The series deals with an epidemic that is breaking out in the city of Atlanta , which is why part of the city had to be quarantined. The disease is one hundred percent fatal and highly contagious as you can become infected through any body fluids.
But in the course of the series it turns out that Dr. Sabine Lommers knows more than she says. The police officer Lex and the reporter Leo Green go on a search for clues and discover terrifying things about the disease, its spread and occurrence and the index patient .
