Contaminated is an Australian death metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 2013.
history
The band was founded in 2013 by Lachlan McPherson. In the following year, Christoph Winkler joined as a drummer. In 2017 the debut album Final Man was released via Blood Harvest Records . In September of that year the band played together with Blood Incantation and Arcturus . In December the group performed at the Blood Duster farewell concert , along with Fuck… I'm Dead , Christcrusher, Dead Root, Blunt Shovel, Reaper and Neck Grip. Another concert followed in January 2018 together with Faceless Burial , Shitgrinder, Vile Apparition and Internal Rot. A performance at the Total Attack Festival in Brisbane is planned for May 2018 .

L. Saunders of angrymetalguy.com wrote in his review of Final Man that the band played aggressive, dirty and barbaric death metal on it. The music can be assigned to the classical form of the genre and has a dark character. Distinctive riffs , blast beats , groovy passages and very deep growls are typical of the music . The latter sound monotonous in the long run. In the songs you can hear influences from early incantation and disembowelment as well as from US and European Death Metal and Death Doom in general . Occasionally, elements from Brutal Death Metal and Funeral Doom are also incorporated . Björn Backes from Powermetal.de also reviewed the album and summarized the music as raw old-school death metal, with simple songwriting , variable and “bad” riffs and bitter vocals. The album is suitable for fans of the radical sound of old autopsy songs or fans of early death and atheist .
