Corbița is a municipality in the district of Vrancea in the historical region of Moldova in Romania . The seat of the municipality is Șerbăneşti .

Geographical location

In the north of the district ( Județ ) Vrancea, the municipality Corbița lies on an area (according to different data) of 3521 or 5795 hectares. On the Berheci river - a right tributary of the Bârlad - and about one kilometer west of the county road ( drum județean ) DJ 241A, the place is about 20 kilometers northeast of the small town of Adjud ; the district capital Focşani is about 75 kilometers south of Corbița.

history

The history of settlement in the region goes back to the early Middle Ages . According to M. Petrescu-Dâmbovița, discoveries were made in the area of the municipality in 1939 , which point to dwellings from the early Middle Ages. The incorporated village of Lărgășeni was first mentioned in 1546 as the first place in the municipality of Corbița.

population

At the time of recording in 2002, 2,100 people lived in the area of the parish. 2,098 were Romanians and two called themselves Magyars . In 2011, a census in Corbița recorded 1,793 people in 936 households.

Attractions

The wooden church Adormirea Maicii Domnului , built in 1760 in the incorporated village of Lărgășeni , is a listed building.
