Corey Michael Linsley (* 27. July 1991 in Youngstown , Ohio ) is an American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Green Bay Packers as a center .

college

Linsley played college football for the Buckeyes of Ohio State University as an offensive lineman for five years . He did not play any games as a red shirt in his freshman year at Ohio State. In his sophomore year of college, he completed 6 games for his university. In the following year, Linsley did not get beyond a reserve role and completed 10 games in various positions within the offensive line . Since 2012 Linsley has been used as a starter on the position of the center with the Buckeyes. In this position, Linsley was able to show his talent in 2012 and his senior year of college (2013). In 2012 he played in 12 games and in 2013 in 14 games for his team.

NFL

Linsley was drafted in the 5th round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers in 161st place. Already in his rookie season ( 2014 ) Linsley completed all 16 regular season games as a starter. Due to an injury, Linsley missed the last 3 games of the 2015 season and the first 8 games of the following season in 2016 . Since his return during the 2016 season, Linsley has had more snaps on the field than any other Packers lineman. During the 2017 and 2018 seasons , Linsley was on the field at every snap. After 3 appearances in the playoffs in his first 3 professional years, Linsley missed participation in the playoffs with the Packers in 2017 and 2018. At the end of 2017, Linsley's contract was extended for 3 years and will receive 25.5 million US dollars for the 2018-2020 seasons . In the 2019 season, Linsley was again on the pitch in all 16 regular season games for the Packers. After two unsuccessful years for the Packers, Linsley reached the playoffs again in 2019 and with a record of 13 wins and 3 defeats they even managed to secure a bye week. Ultimately, he was defeated in the Conference Finals of the San Francisco 49ers and thus missed the Super Bowl LIV with the Packers .
