Corina Georgiana Ungureanu (born August 29, 1980 in Ploieşti , Prahova County ) is a former Romanian gymnast and current trainer.

Corina Ungureanu began her career at the Petrolul Ploieşti club , but moved to the central gymnastics center in Bucharest at an early age , where she was trained by Leana Sima . At times she also trained under Octavian Belu in the national training center in Deva . Between 1993 and 1999 she competed for Romania in international competitions. She celebrated her first major international successes in 1996 when she won the EcoAir Cup . For the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 Ungureanu could not prevail against the strong national competition. A year later, however, she was part of the Romanian relay, which won the gold medal in Lausanne . In 1998 she also won the European championship title in the relay and the title in floor exercise in St. Petersburg . In 1999 there was another gold medal with the relay at the World Championships in Tianjin . Because of a long-term injury, she resigned from competitive sports in 1999.

Corina Ungureanu first attracted international attention outside of sport in 2000 when she was photographed naked for Romanian Playboy . These pictures were also published in the Japanese edition of Playboy, which led to requests for further recordings from Japan. In 2002, she posed naked with her former teammates Lavinia Miloșovici and Claudia Presăcan for a Japanese magazine. Shortly afterwards, DVDs were also produced where the three athletes were shown doing gymnastics with a bare upper body , as well as other series of images for the Japanese magazine "Shukan Gendai". Since the three appeared several times in Romania's official national jerseys, all three were banned from the Romanian association as trainers and judges until 2007. The Japanese Junior Gymnastics Federation then refused to admit Romanian female gymnasts for an international competition in Japan. Due to the suspension, Ungureanu spent some time in Italy as a coach. In 2004 an authorized biography appeared. She became the spokeswoman for the Romanian mineral water company Bucovina SA and runs a coffee house in Ploieşti with her boyfriend. In 2007 she took over a coaching position at the English Association with Claudia Presăcan. In 2008 she posed again for the Romanian Playboy.

She ran for the 2014 European elections in Romania as an independent candidate.
