Cornelia Bouman
Cornelia "Kea" Bouman (born November 23, 1903 in Almelo , † November 17, 1998 in Delden ) was a tennis player from the Netherlands .
Career
Bouman's greatest success was winning the French Open in 1927. In the women's final, she beat Irene Peacock from South Africa in straight sets 6: 2, 6: 4. She was the first (and to date only) Dutch tennis player to ever win a Grand Slam tournament .
She also won the bronze medal in mixed doubles with her partner Hendrik Timmer at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris . In 1929 she won the double title in Paris with the Spaniard Lilí Álvarez against the South Africans Bobby Heine and Alida Neave 7: 5, 6: 3.
However, she was also successful in other disciplines, was a Dutch golf champion and played for the national hockey team .
