Cornelia Tăutu

Cornelia Tăutu (born March 10, 1938 in Odorheiu Secuiesc , Romania ; † March 24, 2019 in Germany ) was a Romanian composer .

Life

Cornelia Tăutu studied folklore , orchestration and composition with Mihail Jora , Aurel Stroe and Emilia Comișel at the National Music University of Bucharest from 1960 to 1965 . Then she worked until 1975 at the Institute for Ethnology and Folklore "Constantin Brailoiu" and as an editor at Editura Muzicală in Bucharest. In between, she studied from 1971 to 1972 at Long Island University in New York City . From the mid-1970s she also worked as a film composer and was responsible for the music for feature films such as Duell mit der Einsamkeit , The Holidays of a High School Student and The Golden Train .
